Content Monitoring & Acceptable Use Policy

Issued by: MyAutoCompanion Ltd (“MyAutoCompanion”, “we”, “us”, “our”)

1. Purpose

This Content Monitoring & Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out:

  1. The categories of goods and services that may and may not be processed through MyAutoCompanion Merchant Services;
  2. The obligations of Merchants in relation to product scope, geographic scope and lawful trading;
  3. The monitoring controls implemented by MyAutoCompanion; and
  4. The actions that may be taken where activity falls outside the approved scope.

This Policy forms part of, and is incorporated into, the Merchant Services Agreement and/or Order Form between MyAutoCompanion Ltd and the Merchant.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to:

  • All Merchants onboarded to MyAutoCompanion Merchant Services;
  • All payment methods made available through the platform (including card payments, digital wallets, pay by link, terminals, open banking, direct debit and any future payment methods);
  • All sales channels including:
    • Merchant websites,
    • E-commerce pages,
    • Hosted payment pages,
    • Payment links,
    • In-store terminal transactions,
    • Social media sales channels.

3. Permitted Use

MyAutoCompanion Merchant Services is a vertical payments solution designed exclusively for the UK automotive sector.

Merchants may use the Services only for lawful and legitimate automotive-related goods and services, including:

  • Sale of motor vehicles (new and used);
  • Sale of vans, caravans and motorhomes;
  • Vehicle servicing and repairs;
  • Sale of vehicle parts and accessories;
  • MOT and inspection services;
  • Vehicle deposits;
  • Warranty products;
  • Vehicle-related administration fees;
  • Road tax and registration services;
  • Approved ancillary automotive services.

All activity must:

  • Be lawful in the United Kingdom;
  • Be within the Merchant’s declared trading activity;
  • Be within the approved geographic scope agreed at onboarding.

4. Prohibited and Restricted Activities

Merchants must not use MyAutoCompanion Merchant Services to process payments for:

4.1 Prohibited Goods & Services

  • Gambling, betting or gaming services;
  • Cryptocurrency trading, exchanges or investment schemes;
  • CBD, vape, tobacco or related products;
  • Firearms, weapons or controlled weapons;
  • Adult content, escorting or sexual services;
  • Financial services not expressly approved (including lending, credit broking unrelated to vehicle sales, forex trading, investment schemes);
  • Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes;
  • Sanctioned goods or trade with sanctioned jurisdictions;
  • Counterfeit goods;
  • Any illegal goods or services;
  • Any activity prohibited by applicable law, card schemes or the acquiring bank.

4.2 Material Changes to Business Activity

Merchants must not materially change:

  • Their core business activity;
  • The nature of goods or services sold;
  • Their geographic trading scope;
  • Their ownership or control structure;

without prior written notification to and, where required, approval from MyAutoCompanion.

5. Geographic Restrictions

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Merchants must operate primarily within the United Kingdom;
  • Settlement accounts must be UK bank accounts;
  • Significant cross-border activity may trigger review;
  • Trade with sanctioned jurisdictions is strictly prohibited.

MyAutoCompanion reserves the right to restrict payment acceptance to approved territories.

6. Merchant Obligations

Merchants agree to:

  1. Provide accurate, complete and truthful information during onboarding;
  2. Notify MyAutoCompanion promptly of any material change to:
    • Business model,
    • Ownership,
    • Products or services,
    • Trading geography,
    • Website domain(s) or sales channels;
  3. Ensure that all public-facing materials accurately reflect the nature of goods and services sold;
  4. Cooperate fully with any compliance review;
  5. Provide supporting documentation upon request;
  6. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, card scheme rules and acquiring bank requirements.

7. Content Monitoring Controls

MyAutoCompanion operates proportionate and risk-based monitoring controls to identify activity outside the approved scope.

These controls may include:

7.1 Onboarding Review

  • Website and domain review;
  • Companies House verification;
  • Public domain and adverse media checks;
  • Review of social media channels used for selling;
  • Confirmation of declared goods and services.

7.2 Ongoing Monitoring

  • Periodic website and publicly available content review;
  • Automated keyword scanning for restricted or prohibited categories;
  • Monitoring of transaction patterns;
  • Volume and ticket size analysis;
  • Chargeback ratio monitoring;
  • Geographic transaction analysis.

Monitoring is conducted on a risk-based and proportionate basis consistent with regulatory, acquiring bank and card scheme obligations.

8. Social Media & Third-Party Platforms

Where Merchants use social media platforms or third-party marketplaces (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or similar platforms) to promote or sell goods and services:

  • MyAutoCompanion may review publicly accessible pages;
  • Sales activity conducted via payment links is subject to monitoring;
  • Content inconsistent with the declared automotive business activity may trigger review.

Merchants remain responsible for ensuring that all sales channels comply with this Policy.

9. Transaction Monitoring

MyAutoCompanion may implement risk-based transaction monitoring, including:

  • Sudden volume spikes;
  • Significant deviation from historical averages;
  • Unusual cross-border card activity;
  • Elevated chargeback ratios;
  • Mismatch between declared business type and transaction behaviour;
  • Suspicious refund or reversal patterns.

Monitoring thresholds may be updated periodically to align with:

  • Card scheme requirements;
  • Acquiring bank obligations;
  • Regulatory standards.

10. Investigations & Remedial Action

Where MyAutoCompanion identifies suspected non-compliance, we may:

  1. Request further information or documentation;
  2. Temporarily suspend payment processing;
  3. Restrict specific payment methods;
  4. Delay settlements;
  5. Escalate matters to our acquiring partner;
  6. Report activity to relevant regulatory or law enforcement authorities;
  7. Terminate the Merchant Agreement.

MyAutoCompanion reserves the right to act immediately where required to protect:

  • Card scheme compliance;
  • Acquiring bank obligations;
  • Regulatory obligations;
  • Platform integrity;
  • The interests of other users.

11. Consequences of Breach

Failure to comply with this Policy may result in:

  • Immediate suspension of payment services;
  • Termination of the Merchant Agreement;
  • Withholding or delay of funds where legally permitted;
  • Liability for fines, penalties, chargebacks or losses arising from non-compliance;
  • Reporting to relevant authorities.

12. Amendments

MyAutoCompanion may update this Policy where required to:

  • Comply with changes in law or regulation;
  • Comply with card scheme rules;
  • Comply with acquiring bank requirements;
  • Reflect changes to risk profile.

Updated versions will be published and take effect as specified.

13. Precedence

In the event of conflict between this Policy and the Merchant Services Agreement, the Merchant Services Agreement shall prevail unless expressly stated otherwise.
